Welcome to Minimal Ballistic!

The place where I share my view on games and publish game walkthrough, previews, let’s plays and guides.

I just finished the walkthrough of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I furthermore publish movies about Risk of Rain 2 and Darkest Dungeon. Upcoming walkthrough: Trials of Mana and Gears Tactics.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

In Ori and the Will of the Wisps the player assumes control over Ori, a white guardian spirit. Ori and Ku, a little blue owl, crash-land and get separated in a distant forest after a test flight by Ori and Ku (click here to see the opening cinematic). The player, through Ori, is tasked to find Ku. In order to do so the player has to move between different platforms, maps and solve complex puzzles.

Through the game the player learns new abilities and movements that result in areas previously unreachable to become reachable. Besides learning new abilities the player can find spirit shards that can be equipped and, when equipped, provide additional abilities and capabilities.

The game is developed by Moon Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows and is a sequel to the 2015 title Ori and the Blind Forest.

You can now find the complete walkthrough of the game here on the website!

Risk of Rain 2

Risk of Rain 2 is a roguelike game being played from the third person perspective. The player gets dropped on a planet in a capsule and needs to stay alive by killing creatures and elite creatures, find items to improve skills and teleport to other locations by first killing massive bosses. While progressing through the game the player is able to complete achievements and unlock other player classes.

I recently started playing Risk of Rain 2. I had the game pop-up in the game stores on Steam and the Nintendo store attracting my attention. After a quick check I decided to buy it on Steam and I must say, it has not disappointed.

The game has a bit of a steep learning curve when you first start playing. One of the main challenges is to accept that at some point the character will die. The game is setup to become more and more difficult as you progress through the game content and the survivor levels. The player also needs to understand which items are best for certain approaches compared to others. Items that are found for the first time will end up in the logbook after the run ends allowing the player to check the exact properties.

Having done multiple runs and having unlocked the Huntress and the MUL-T survivors my conclusion is that I would recommend getting this game. Besides the fact this game is fun to play solo on Steam or on the Nintendo Switch it can also be played through multiplayer online which will add another level of fun.
